History
The Maa Tara Tarini Temple is among the most ancient and revered Shakti Peethas of bharat. According to sacred tradition, this holy site marks the place where Maa Sati’s Breast Fell, Making It one of the 51 Shakti Peethas Of Maa Adi Shakti.
The name “Tara Tarini” symbolizes the twin manifestations of The Divine Mother — Maa Tara, The Redeemer, and Maa Tarini, The Protector. Scriptures describe Them as The Two Sisters Who embody compassion and liberation.

By road:
Well connected by road via nh-16 (old nh-5). Buses and taxis are available from brahmapur and bhubaneswar to the Temple base. From the foothill, devotees may climb 999 steps, drive up, or use the ropeway to reach the hilltop Shrine.
